Hello! Salam! Bonjour! It's been a while I know, I'm terrible at being consistent when creating content but I promise I will get better at it. I have loads of tutorials coming for you so stay tuned!
Today I come to you with a cute sewing tutorial for kids and adults: a reversible fabric crown! Zahra loves the one that she gets when we go to Burger King so I thought I'll just saw her a fancy one with a beautiful golden fabric I bought at Tile And Carpet Centre. The crown requires a small amount of fabric, perfect for scraps, so I will use the rest to make a classy skirt!
The important thing to know before starting is that the result will look better with thick fabric. That's why TACC was the perfect place to shop as they sell upholstery material. So choose a thick cotton or canvas and get some interfacing as well.
Then, the first thing you are going to do is measure the head of your child (or whoever the crown is for). Add two inches of seam allowance and divide this measurement by two.
For example, Zahra's head is 19":
19 + 2 = 21 / 2 = 10,5
After that, everything is explained in my video, from drafting the pattern to attaching the velcro. If you have any questions, shoot them in the comment section and if you make your own crown, please share it with me on Instagram and Facebook.
Zahra loves her reversible fabric crowns and she even want some for her dolls now...!
